The awards, that recognise businesses for their hard work, have come at a great time to give our team a morale boost and it is a credit to each and every one of them that has continued in the face of adversity with a smile, plenty of laughs and some occasional tears, they continue to work incredibly hard for each other, our customers, the community and the environment. Since the latest government announcement to work from home where possible, many businesses have been worried about returning to square one. Our team have embraced the change and grabbed the opportunity presented to us. Our new home working brochure that gives back to Helen & Douglas House Children’s hospice is testament to that. Our business like many others has been effected by the coronavirus pandemic, but through the support of our people and pivoting our business to provide safer working services and products, we are continuing to trade our way through these strangest of times, but not everybody within our local and the broader community is fortunate enough to be able to make those changes. Charities are seeing donations fall and local community projects really need support that is proving harder and harder to come by. At REDBOX we decided that now more than ever we need to continue with our community support and charitable donations for those less fortunate and struggling due to the Covid-19 outbreak. We have worked with our chosen charity, Helen & Douglas house, who give palliative care to terminally ill children, to provide support during these difficult conditions. Our team each completed 2.6 miles of running or walking and raised over £1500.00 through the 2.6 marathon challenge, we also donated colouring pencils for hampers that were sent to families of the children that had to self-isolate. Part of our ongoing support is to donate 2% of any revenue generated from our “Home Working” furniture range. Looking after people’s mental health and wellbeing is more important than ever, especially when they are not getting to mix with their colleagues due to home working and keeping everyone safe. Our people are no exception and are the most important part of our business, so we organised weekly “Health & Wellbeing” webinars with Nick Hollis from Fitways Adventure and regular “Friday night Socials” with quizzes or just a good catch up for all our staff. With supporting a local Housing Association with house furniture and beds to help in the assistance of getting the homeless off the streets during lockdown to donating Coronavirus killing hand sanitiser to our local care home, we will continue to support our people and our community in every way we can, through the current exceptional times and beyond.
